The great outdoors

Step into a Biosphere Reserve

Our hostel is in the heart of the Anaga Rural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2015. This exceptional environment occupies 14,500 hectares of the mountain range located in the northeast corner of Tenerife between the municipalities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna and Tegueste.

Those who visit Anaga are surprised time and time again by its landscape, its steep mountains, its ravines, but also by its beaches. Here, amidst magical landscapes, one of the greatest biological treasures of Macaronesia is conserved: the laurel forest.

Did you know that the laurel forest has survived in Anaga for more than 40 million years? Hidden in the midst of a sea of clouds, this ancient relic of the Tertiary Period, composed of a mixture of laurel, lichen, bloodroot, heather, willow and hibiscus, among other plants, is preserved intact.

So go ahead – don't wait for someone else to tell you about it
